CAN'T STOP STARING: AUDREY TAUTOU

French actress Audrey Tautou was flawless in Chanel on the red carpet for the premiere of Coco Before Chanel. It was presented by Chanel at the Paris Theater in New York on September 15th, 2009. In the film she plays the designer. When I first saw this picture I was blown away. Everything in this look works perfectly together.

BEAUTY PICK OF THE WEEK: MAC EYE KOHL IN SMOLDER

Mac’s Eye Kohl in Smolder is my personal favorite eyeliner. I love the way its rich pitch black color makes my eyes pop. I use it everyday because it lasts and its smooth texture makes for easy application. Mac makeup artist Brettnee A. Nelson suggests, “Taking the color off the pencil with an angled brush in order to achieve a very defined line”. The soft texture is also ideal for a smoldering smoky eye.

Fashion Inspiration: Jennifer Lopez

Who else can rock a bandanna with a belly shirt, wear thigh-high leather boots with short shorts, and sashay across the red carpet in illustrious designer gowns? No one but J.Lo can do this, and still be taken seriously. So many love her style from high fashion snobs to guys on the block. Her style transcends cultures.

The September Issue: Review (Movie Trailer Inside)

Thank you, R.J. Cutler for directing and producing this truthful, honest, and insightful documentary inside Vogue’s preparation for their September issue of 2007. The largest one created to date. The September Issue effectively illustrates what drives the editors, stylists, and contributors of Vogue: love, appreciate, and respect for fashion. The documentary also shows the artistry, intelligence, and passion that goes into every page of Vogue.  This film will wash the bad taste out of the mouths of many that was left by 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada. That film depicted Anna Wintour, the editor in chief of Vogue, as a heartless and mean spirited woman. And fashion as a silly industry. This documentary rescues fashion’s reputation.
